Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department suspended deputy chief Julius Mkhwanazi was arrested Friday evening, this another of the many arrests he has had to endure flowing from evidence emanating from the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.

Earlier in the day the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) arrested the Madlanga Commission witness “K”, the witness who recently testified before the commission regarding the precious stones heist worth R14, 9 million. Three people – she became the fourth, had already been arrested. Police continued searching for Mkhwanazi until they got him Friday evening.
