It’s been a tough season for automakers. Who would have thought that German models would be in so much… my editor took that word out, but you know what I mean — it starts with K and ends with K.
Anyway, Mercedes-Benz has decided to reduce some of the excessive “fat” and chop a few cars from its line-up.
This always saddens us, honestly, because all these cars play a role. Some allow people to get into a Mercedes-Benz who might otherwise never have been able to, while others allow a businessman to show you just how well he did in the past financial year. 😂
I’m sure you don’t want to hear my sob stories of yesteryear. You want to know which cars got the chop.
But before I go on…
Doesn’t this worry you?
Are we heading towards a future where we’re all driving generators and batteries? Shapeless and soulless?
I digress.
OK, THE BIG MERCEDES-BENZ DIET
First up, the EQE electric sedan.
The electrified reimagination of the venerable E-Class has been laid to rest in both Mercedes-Benz and AMG forms.
Thank God.

Maybe, just maybe, Mercedes-Benz is going on a good diet. That car was never good.
We’ll get into that one of these days — or watch our YouTube channel, where we’ll try to feature it on our RETRO-SPEC.
(Get it? Retro as in yesterday, and Spec as in specification. Good, right?) 😂
But this one…
This one really makes me dislike tree huggers a little more.
The Mercedes-AMG S63 E Performance is gone, ladies and gentlemen.
It was first the A8/S8, now this?
How is Ronin going to chase the bad guys?
How?
With an EV? Really?
We all know the Mercedes-Benz EQ range flopped. So why not disinvest from that and leave the big old barge alone?
Mercedes-Benz has now pulled back from that strategy, launching more traditionally styled electric variants of its popular C-Class sedan and GLC-Class SUV.
But why?
Guys, can you see I’m literally gutted by the removal of the S63?
Get rid of the milk pint — I mean the C63. 😂
Look, the S63 is the epitome of excellence.

It’s where designers and engineers can let their hair down, sit around a play mat, draw and design their hearts out, and show the rest of the world what a luxury sedan is meant to be.
If I had to predict, I think we’ll lose some of the variants, but the S63 will make a comeback.

A pure, limited-edition, PETROL-LOVING, FUEL-TURNING-INTO-A-RACING-HEARTBEAT, SNORING-TITANIC-OF-A-BEAST.
Soon.
I can bet on it…
Oh yeah, they’re also letting go of the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680.

But who cares? 😂
