Media personality and musician Molemo Katleho Maarohanye, better known as Jub Jub, appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court on today in connection with an alleged firearm-related incident in Edenvale.

Maarohanye faces charges of allegedly discharging a firearm in a public place and pointing an object that could lead someone to believe it was a firearm. The charges stem from an incident involving an e-hailing driver on 14 June 2026.

During the investigation, police seized a pellet gun from Maarohanye’s residence. He appeared in court while out on bail after successfully obtaining relief through an urgent application in the Gauteng High Court earlier this month.

The case was briefly heard before being postponed to 24 August 2026 to allow for further investigation.

The National Prosecuting Authority said it remains committed to allowing the matter to proceed through the criminal justice system based on the available evidence. Investigations into the incident are continuing.
